Emanations of the Philosophy of Life Instinct

A new species is slowly emerging from Homo sapiens. It is Homo futuris, also known as Modern Man (and Modern Woman, of course), Modern Mankind, or colloquially, Mods. Its numbers are few, perhaps less than 50 million out of a current human population of ~8.3 billion. But it is distinctly and definitely present, and growing.
What distinguishes Modern Mankind is its beliefs and behaviours, and I am laying them down here to define and institutionalise them.
These are not, in fact, rules externally imposed on Homo futuris by anybody. Rather, they follow them intrinsically, both instinctively and through conscious volition. We can think of them as their internal commandments, what they are driven by.
The Ten Commandments of Modern Man
- Thou shalt be educated, scientific, and rational
- Thou shalt support free markets and personal property
- Thou shalt support democracy
- Thou shalt not believe in gods
- Thou shalt keep spiritual and religious practices private
- Thou shalt believe in equality, freedom, peaceful co-existence, and kindness for all living beings
- Thou shalt be addiction-free, productive, and quality-conscious
- Thou shalt not bear arms except if you are in the police or a defence service
- Thou shalt be civic-minded
- Thou shalt be law-abiding
Think of these as foundational principles and practices that naturally lead to other important features of Mods. Otherwise, the list will become impractical and ineffective. Multiple core beliefs can lead to an outcome, and one belief can have several results, but here are a few simple examples:
- A scientific and rational outlook leads to respect for the planet’s ecology
- Supporting free markets and personal property prevents Marxism, reservation, and freebies
- Belief in equality and peaceful co-existence for all living beings prevents bigotry and drives care for animals
- Conviction in kindness leads to care for the weaker members of society
- Being civic-minded leads to cleanliness and better living conditions
If you are a Mod, tell me which commandment I am missing. We need to lock this down together, spread it, and stay true to it.
