Rainbow Days

A poem

A rainbow I photographed a few days ago inspired this poem.

I hope you enjoy both the image and the words.

(Read aloud for the full experience.)

Rainbow Days

Festive pennant in a triumphal arch,
Welcomes the rain to end summer’s long march.
Already a season so marvellous,
Adorns itself with a sash gorgeous!

Magic physics of sun, raindrops, and eye,
Which blessed creatures see rainbows in the sky?
Can you believe there’s nothing yonder?
Inside us forms this exquisite wonder.

Do you see the same rainbow that I do?
When you smile with glee and point at the view?
Is this bond of ours the pot of gold true,
Nature’s playful gift for me and you!
